Mixed work between dry and wet lab.- Gathering and processing of massive genomic datasets from public databases (NCBI-SRA, EMBL-Ensembl, ENCODE).- Command line work (Linux) and script creation for the automatization, standarization, parallelization, and integration of genomic data processing (Fastq-dump, FastQC, trimmomatic, bedtools, markdup, bowtie 2, deeptools).- Statistical and massive data analysis (Python). Participation in a project based on biomaterial and tissue engineering for the development of bio-realistic neuroblastoma in vitro models. - Production and coating of PDMS surfaces for neuroblastoma cell culture. - Manufacturing of collagen 3D porous scaffolds. - Fluorescence microscopy training.Given the COVID-19 outbreak, the practical part of my master thesis at IBEC had to be cancelled after the first month and replaced by theorical work. After months of research and the production of the thesis and its presentation, my theoric work was awarded the "With Honors" distinction, the highest qualification in the Spanish university system.

I worked for two months in the Protein Engineering research group of the Institute. I performed PCRs, Gibson Assembly and restriction-ligation protocols, protein expression cultures, and HPLCs among others on a daily basis. I also interpreted agarose and acrylamide gels routinely. I also cryztalized proteins, and even had the chance to "fish" for protein crystals in order to send them to the ALBA synchrotron in Barcelona. Through this, I helped conducing the structural characterization of the Shewanella baltica PfaB protein.
