The first member of Solnet’s Digital Team, I have grown the team to be one of Solnet’s key capabilities, with 13 members. I have been instrumental in Solnet winning various customers, including Air New Zealand, Fonterra, NZ Lotto, Westpac and Beef + Lamb. I have also instigated the development and design of a new brand for Solnet, that better reflects the new modern outlook of the company. This included a new website, complete rebranding and modernisation of the logo, and a new office layout for the digital team including write-on walls, creative planning spaces, presentation areas.Projects include:MBIE: Employment Agreement Builder: a web application which empowers employers to create and download their own employment agreements, that keeps abreast with the legal obligations and is maintained by MBIE's own staffAir NZ – Hybrid App - iPhone, Elite Customer service app: a mobile app that is currently being built to help Air NZ staff recognise elite customers and provide them with a more personalised service.Fonterra – Frontend design - taking over from Optimal Experience to implement and extend their initial designs for their new iPhone and Android applicationsBeef + Lamb New Zealand – The main goal of the project was to assist Beef + Lamb NZ to improve the profitability of sheep and beef farmers by delivering an information portal. As well as working full time at Solnet Solutions Ltd, I have become a Company Director of Strait Software Ltd.

I moved to New Zealand with my family in 2006, and joined Simpl as a Web Analyst in May. Highlights include seeing my work be short-listed for the Vero 2008 Business Awards, and a widening of my role to include Information Architecture, a new area at Simpl and one in which my extensive experience of web architecture, website usability and user psychology is of great benefit in enabling clients to make best use of their web presence.Major projects include:B4Schools project, a Ministry of Health initiative to collate data on all four-year-olds, ensuring that every child receives the necessary medical checks before starting school. A three-month information architecture review of the Environmental Risk Management Agency’s web presence. Preparing a strategic report including a technical roadmap for the CEO and senior management of ERMA. The Department of Labour Online Holidays Act tool, a high-level, Ministerial-sponsored web application.

Moved to Element78 at the request of the MD to design and develop additional sections of the CarbonSuite set of products (http://www.carbon360.co.uk/). These include a web-based peer to peer review system, a performance management system and a survey tool, and are written in C# using Visual Studio 2005. Designed and developed an integrated .Net platform for CarbonSuite a 360 peer review systemRedeveloped survey system from ASP to C# .Net Optimised websites for search engine using techniques learnt at The Real Adventure. Added Google analytics tracking and Adword tracking to primary sites to improve advertising strategyUpdated inline TSQL to stored procedures, including writing those stored proceduresLiaised between development and graphics design teams to achieve reusable code and graphic ‘skins’ for our products, enabling branding of CarbonSuite for different clients

A marketing and communications company, specialising in collecting and reviewing customer data from websites and marketing campaigns in order to build long-term partnerships with its clients, which included PepsiCo and GlaxoSmithKline. Researched search engine optimisation in order to improve ranking in all major search engines for TRA’s hosted websites.Reviewed TRA’s bespoke content management system and made recommendations to the board, resulting in a new version of the system.Created exhibition stand programs in two days for Trufree to collect customer data at the Allergy Show held at Olympia in London.Designed and build SQL2000 databases for various websites, to help collect data, and assist and streamline integrated mail marketing campaigns.Build bespoke email alert system, and RSS feeds for several clients that later became integrated in to TRA’s bespoke CMS system.

One of a small team of web developers, my role focussed on developing a relationship with our customers, understanding their requirements and writing a project plan before delegating work to other team members as needed. During my employment with Disc Multimedia Ltd I achieved the following:Disc awarded Silver Partnership status by Lloyds TSB largely as a result of my work on both their intranet and a staff reward system.Developed a survey system which later formed part of the CarbonSuite set of products at Element78.Learnt C# in order to write a content management system for one of our clients.Led small development teams on various web development, intranet and standalone systems

The first web developer to be employed by SIS, I was instrumental in raising the team’s profile, creating policies and procedures for the development of web applications. Promoted within a year in recognition of my work building an excellent reputation for Internet and Intranet development, which led to the team becoming a key profit centre for the company.Developed the parking and traffic appeals website for the London congestion charge zone. http://www.parkingandtrafficappeals.gov.ukDesigned and built information portals for Wiltshire, Rochford and Swindon district councils.Worked with Wiltshire Fire Brigade to design a community safety web application.Learnt Flash in my spare time in order to complete online training applications for Nokia, Motorola and Dolphin against a tight deadline.
