Proactive and hands-on Project Engineer with a solid understanding of engineering concepts andproject management practices. In the last years, I have focussed my career on geotechnical, structural,and environmental monitoring, having developed technical knowledge in a wide range of instrumentsand IoT-based solutions. I am an eager learner with a passion for construction and the builtenvironment, especially projects that positively impact the community and environment.By way of background, I am a graduate of the civil engineering faculty from the University of Brasilia in Brazil and was fortunate to do part of my studies at the University of Sydney on an exchange program, awarded to me on scholarship from the Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development. Whilst completing my degree in Brazil, I completed a few internships. My first role involved water resource management for the national water agency in Brazil. I later interned for a large national construction company; firstly, as a Site Engineer during the construction of an 18-storey hotel and secondly, as a Project Engineer for a project involving the construction of a 20-storey commercial building.After finishing my degree, due to economic and political changes in Brazil, career opportunities for engineers became limited and I made the difficult decision to relocate myself permanently to Australia. Since then, I have worked in various jobs in the construction industry whilst also completing an Advanced Diploma in Project Management.Now I am focused on pursuing my career as a Civil Engineer/Project Manager in Australia in a role that allows me to fully utilise my education and experience in more complex matters that will broaden my experience and nurture my passion for the built environment.
