Head Of Art
In 2013 I moved to Los Angeles. A few months after that, I began working with EAT, a creative hot shop specialised in visual design based in Marina Del Rey. I was hired as a freelance artist at first, developing graphic pieces for music and entertainment industries. At the time, EAT was quite small and the clients were mostly local: nightclubs, DJ’s, small startups and such. We focused on social media, branding and merchandising. In 2015, back in Brazil, I developed EAT’s rebrand project. That effort pushed the company to bigger markets and consolidated it’s place among the hottest creative shops in the west coast of the United States. I played a key role in EAT’s team acting as Head of Art and Senior Designer, having designed and collaborated with more than 60 projects in concept creation, branding, web & mobile development, animation, photography, UI / UX, graphic design and social media. Clients include: Amazon, Netflix, Twitch, Red Bull, Adidas, TechStyle, HelloSociety + The New York Times, Electronic Arts, Activision, Blizzard, Disney, NBC Universal, Warner Records, TIDAL, Samsung, Wunderflats and others.
Head Of Art
Shortly after my return to Brazil, I was hired by my friends at Cosmonauta as Head of Art and Creative Leader.Cosmonauta plans and creates presentations of high visual impact that potentiate products, services, businesses and ideas, from storytelling to animation. My challenge was to raise the quality of the team’s work, repositioning the company itself and helping them launch 4 courses directed to anyone who wants to master their presentation skills: Hubble - Presentation Design; Byebyeblablabla - Presentation Oratory Techniques; Krakatoa - Communication for Social Impact and Occult - Digital Branding.Clients include: Nestlé (food industry), Amcham Brasil, Globo (media company), SIMERS (medic sindicate), Editora Abril (publising company), Grendene (fashion brand), Melissa (fashion brand) and Goldsztein (real estate and construction industries).
Digital Art Director
I was hired as Digital Art Director at w3haus, the biggest independent digital agency in Brazil. Being able to expand my design skills to the digital world was such a joy.At first, I worked for Petrobras and BR Distribuidora’s team, focusing on promotional activations, digital campaigns and B2B projects. That included the launch of their global website in partnership with Lomography.com.After a few months they moved me to the general clients team, were I had the chance to develop projects for the food industry with Melitta and Mondeléz (formely Kraft Foods), sports with Grêmio Foot-Ball Porto Alegrense, fashion with Fila and beauty with O Boticário (the largest producer of perfume and makeup in the country).Clients include: Petrobras (petroleum industry), BR Distribuidora (fuel), Trakinas, Toblerone, Lacta, Club Social, Belvita, Sonho de Valsa, Bis, Fila (fashion brand), Grêmio Foot-ball Porto Alegrense (soccer team), O Boticário (sub brands: MakeB, Floratta, NativaSPA, Malbec).
Art Director
Dez was my third agency. I was hired as an intern and left as an art director. In the beginning, I worked close to the creative team developing offline campaigns for several industries. My job was to assist the art directors doing research, photo retouching, manipulation, etc. After 6 months, I got promoted to Jr. Art Director. During this period, I had big contact with traditional advertising skills, like offline art direction, graphic & electronic production, media strategy, and so on.By the end of our partnership, I was the main art director for their agrobusiness and real estate market cell, managing a dedicated team of two AD and two CW.Clients include: Fiat, Dakota (fashion brand), Batavo (food industry), Feevale University, Paquetá Esportes, RBS Media Group, Barra Shopping Sul, AGCO, Massey Ferguson, Kepler Weber, Cyrela Goldzstein (real estate & construction), Aurora (winery group), among others.
Jr. Art Director
Happy House is the first and most traditional endomarketing agency in Brazil. They work with large national corporations with international reach, helping them better understand their collaborators and communicate with them efficiently. My role was to help the creative team build these campaigns, making sure that they were both stunning and effective. Over there I had the opportunity to expand my skills as art director, switching focus from the final consumer to the internal public. It made me understand that the health of a company starts from within with clear communication between staff and board of directors.Clients include: Vale (mining company), Votorantim (industrial conglomerate), Renner (department stores clothing), Braskem (petrochemical), Neoenergia (electric services), Gol (airline) and Claro (telecom).
Assistant Art Director
Nearly 6 months after joining college, I apllied to Escola de Criação: a one year course on creative advtertising techniques lectured by the top ad professionals in my home state. The good performance in these classes gave me my first internship at Global, where I started my carrer in art direction. At Global, I learned how this business works. I was working closely with the art directors and designers, helping them build creative campaigns that included printed ads, billboards, films, promotional marketing, point of sale, merchandising, paste-up and mocks, etc.Clients include: Converse, Ramarim (fashion brand), Pompéia (fashion brand), Chevrolet, Maiojama (real estate and construction), among others.
