Producing estimates for cabling contracts valued up to £60M. Reviewing contract documents to produce accurate and robust cost estimates for schemes including cabling and civil works for cable voltages up to 600kV. Role involves excellent time management skills, risk management and programming. The role covers all aspects of the project life cycle from Pre-Qualification to Commercial handover to site/commercial team, responsibilities include producing Project Quality plans, Mobilisation plans, project governance and budgeting and cost control.

Working with various site teams on Overhead Line and Cabling projects to identify and deliver efficiencies through value management, lean techniques and project management. With focus on cost and programme management to identify potential areas of improvement and areas of float to reduce programme times. Contributed to significant cost savings across Power industry, and produced lessons learned and best practice documents to ensure continuous improvement throughout the business.

Working for the past two and a half years in a variety of roles within Balfour Beatty Power T+D.September 2011 - March 2012: Operations Dartford, Kent. Site Engineer on North Hyde cabling project, installed 1.2 km of new cable in highway. Overseeing all operational control of the project including excavation, ducting and re-instatement. Key interactions with sub-contractors, plant and procurement. Assistant site engineer on St Johns Wood sub-station cabling installation,and numerous Faults and Services projects. March 2012 - July 2012 COT Engineering, Erith, KentWorking with the specialist cabling engineering department on various projects, including De-Gassifier van design and build, Oil Kiosk construction, National Grid fluid filled cable de-commissioning investigation, cabling/jointing training and development of new Stage Gate review process within cabling. Working with tender team on cabling de-commissioning projects. July 2012 - September 2012: Health and Safety, Middlesbrough/KentGaining appreciation of health and safety practices within cabling throughout the UK, including carrying out site inspections, audits and hazard processing. Project to update and catalogue all COSHH data for South East region. September 2012 - March 2013 Commercial, CumbernauldWorking in commercial department, costing and invoicing for small projects. Quantity Surveyor on Milton of Craigie project installing new 33kV cable along 10 km of carriageway in Dundee City centre. Responsible for cost to completes, daily progress updates and programme updates. March 2013 - September 2013: Temporary Works Design, Osprey House DerbyWorking in Temporary Works department for the Electricity Alliance East. Designs included crane pads (stone and concrete), timber shuttering and formwork, and slope stability designs. Design optioneering for retaining structure including soil nailing, gabion baskets and sheet piling. Innovative design project for the use of trakway.

Overseeing the construction of new deep water berth at the port of Montrose. Involved project management, surveying, sub-contractor liaison and general engineerign duties.
