I was employed as part of the Studio team, providing design and artwork services on both permanent and promotional displays for clients ranging from Cussons to Time Products. I also worked on concepts and finished artwork for window displays, exhibition stands and internal advertising.An important aspect of my role involved analysing the studio's procedures, workflows and asset management in order to implement improvements.

Responsible for Bourjois UK and GOSH point of sale graphic content, I produced regular updates for new products and unit refreshes. Along with updating existing units I also created new shelf strip and graphic panel designs as required. This involved dealing with clients on a daily basis to ensure their requirements were met.Other elements of the job included:• Understanding and applying corporate guidelines to briefs and being able to modify them, if required, whilst still maintaining the connection between the point of sale material and any other advertising.• Altering supplied images by clipping product and model shots out of flattened files, re-touching to move elements or to mask undesired parts of the image. Or adjusting colour values to change product shades either on the model or the packaging.• Managing all aspects of the graphic design and printing process after initial brief, including materials sourcing and sub contractor management.Using my technical knowledge I devised a new workflow for the Graphics Department to speed up the post approval process. This involved new methods of producing artwork, revising the digital filing system and cross application scripting. I wrote numerous scripts for use in OS X and InDesign to reduce the hours spent on repetitive tasks. These were are also used to aid the transition of moving existing artwork layouts to the new workflow.Developed an XML workflow in InDesign specifically for promotional shelf strips that dramatically cut the time required to produce artwork and the number of possible errors. I was later given additional responsibilities assisting the work of the main IT department by maintaining a network of 20+ Apple computers. This required sound planning and prioritisation skills to manage this dual role. I went on to plan and setup a Mac server within the company, introducing OD services for the first time in the business enabling centralised user management for the Graphics Department.

Key member of the creative team for this busy newspaper. Working with clients to agree and develop concepts and artwork as well as producing graphics and headers for stories ready for print.

Contributing high quality artwork on numerous marketing projects, working on promotions for new products advertised in high street jewellers, cross channel ferries, in-flight magazines, packaging and posters.Assisting sister company, Apollo Southern, by designing brochures, POS material, posters and advertisements.Central involvement in sourcing and purchasing key graphic design equipment for the company, drawing upon professional experience to determine requirements.
