I have a substantial career explaining highly complex technical subjects to a wide variety of audiences: software engineers and other enterprise stakeholders, software end users, college students and other learners. I have just finished an engagement with Stackbuilders.com, helping to shape and craft their new strategic marketing content. Prior to this I worked a year as a technical writer at Twilio.com, documenting their industry-leading business communication systems and helping with the transition from a traditional CMS to a new DaC platform built on React & Next.js. Before that I was engaged as senior technical writer for Unity3D, documenting initiatives in blockchain integration (Tezos), cloud simulation (AWS) and digital-twin technology (DOD). I have delivered technical communication in modes and media ranging from classroom instruction to eLearning modules, video tutorials, white papers, user guides and software technical specifications. I have been involved in online-delivered learning since its inception. From 1998 to 2008 I helped design and build elearning platforms for several companies, most notably eCollege, where I rose from a programmer to a development manager, driving initiatives in offshore development and data analytics. In addition to the tools of technical communication, I am proficient in the use of eLearning tools like Storyline, and Captivate to create SCORM and 508 compliant distance learning solutions. I am also proficient in the creation of gaming and simulation environments in the Unity 3D engine.
