Core responsibilities are to monitor global/regional/national legislative developments targeting decreased emissions (GHG, criteria pollutants and noise) from marine engines; to represent Volvo Penta in industry associations and in contacts with regulatory bodies and governmental agencies; and to communicate new/upcoming emission legislations within Volvo Penta. The position requires good technical understanding of the existing and possible future marine propulsion technologies. It also sets high demands on information filtration and communication skills in combination with balancing independent work and team player skills.

Responsible to coordinate and lead national and international research projects, with the aim to develop and mature novel exhaust aftertreatment technologies and concepts. This included partners from academia, industry and governmental agencies. The position had a specific focus on future ultra-low NOX emission regulations, e.g. balanced emissions from hybrid powertrain solutions (GHG & emissions), and required a deep technical understanding but also good communication skills when interacting with internal and external stakeholders. In addition, identified by Volvo as an emerging leader and was acting group manager for the PSD EATS group during April –August 2019.

Employed at the Swedish Maritime Administration, unit for Transport and International Cooperation at the department of Public Affairs, as an industrial PhD student for three years in a research cooperation in between Chalmers University of Technology and the Swedish Maritime Administration. In an effort to conduct research while utilizing and contributing to the knowledge and experience at the SMA, the three years were evenly divided between research and work (50/50). The research focus was on abatement technology for nitrogen oxides (NOx), and more specifically on improved Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems for marine applications.

The job included several assignments, but three major ones were to coordinate:- Administrative operations between the offices located in Uddevalla, Norway (several distributers), Budapest and Prague. - Oil and grease supplies to vessels, shipyards and offshore platforms (Nordic countries)- Bulk oil supplies to large land based industries (Nordic countries)
