Marketing Consultant

Colombia

At Tekpro S.A. I was in charge of marketing activities aimed at improving the growth of sales through a multi-tiered approach. I started with a complete analysis of what I thought were the strengths and weaknesses of the company. I found several areas that I thought were opportunities. I gave recommendations of updating the website, lead a full product catalog design as well as a brochure re-design. This brochure will be available on their website in both Spanish and English as well as distributed to potential costumers and trade show visitors for the various shows the company plans to attend in the future. The product catalog is composed of individual data sheets for every equipment Tekpro currently sells and each data sheet will be available for download on the website to allow costumers to see exactly what machine they are buying and how they all fit together to optimize the production process. My position at Tekpro was a Marketing Consultant but I found myself to be more of a project manager where I was tasked with overseeing the completion and perfecting of the various projects I began during my 3 month internship. In the end I am very grateful to the owners and the managers for allowing me to gain my first meaningful experience as a young professional and to do so in a foreign language was incredibly enriching. I will always look back on my time in Colombia as a great learning experience and I see myself coming back to Colombia very soon, the potential in this area of the world and in this country really is incredible.

Assistant Guide Interpreter

Fort Beausejour-Fort Cumberland, Aulac Nb

Summer position held for both the 2012 and 2013 summers. I was a student tour guide responsible for giving tours, greeting visitors, answering question as well as handling information requests and research. Language requirements were imperative French and English due to highly varied language requests from visitors. This position allowed me to gain valuable experience in dealing with the public. From giving tours to school groups of children as young as 7 years old to groups of seniors well about 70 it was all about presenting the historically accurate information in a way that would enthrall and excite the group about history. No doubt one of my most rewarding experiences during my second summer at the Fort was hearing visitors compliment me on the tour I had given them the past year and citing me as the reason they came back the following year with an even larger group. During the summer of 2013, Parks Canada launched a program to entice younger visitors to come to Fort Beausejour-Fort Cumberland. The program, Xplorers, would have the kids dress up in soldiers and complete a booklet of activities in both the museum and the fort itself. This booklet of activities had a questionnaire sheet at the back of the booklet which allowed us to calculate some statistics on the participants. I took the initiative in calculating the visitor satisfaction along with writing a comprehensive report following the end of the season. The report is attached below.
