The L&S Mentors Program augments UCB’s College of Letters & Science Undergraduate Advising services by providing graduate student mentors who provide a bridge between the student and faculty experience at UC Berkeley. Mentors offer support designed to increase student engagement, enhance academic achievement, teach academic success strategies, and encourage exploration of academic fields that align with students’ intellectual curiosity. Through one-on-one and group sessions, Mentors help students navigate the campus’s academic and social opportunities and resources, demystify the college experience, and ultimately increase student confidence, self-esteem, and maximize potential. Through intentional outreach, the Mentor program actively supports diversity, equity, and inclusion.
