Mijn promotietraject ging over psychosociale aspecten van anonieme nierdonatie bij leven en het online zoeken naar een nierdonor.Onder begeleiding van Prof. Marlies Reinders (promotor) en Emma Massey, PhD (co-promotor)In het kader van mijn PhD heb ik 6 artikelen gepubliceerd over de volgende onderwerpen:- de motivatie, ervaringen en mentale gezondheid van anonieme nierdonoren in Nederland- de mening over en ervaringen met anonimiteit van ontvangers en donoren die deelgenomen hebben aan een cross-over of dominotransplantatie in Nederland en in het Verenigd Koninkrijk- de overwegingen, ervaringen en behoeften van nierpatienten die gekozen hebben voor een publieke zoektocht naar een nierdonor

Ambulatory care for elderly psychiatric patients with severe and chronic mental health conditions. The main goal was to stimulate participation in society and to prevent admission to a psychiatric hospital.

- Coordinating and conducting a prospective study towards Dutch donors’ and patients’ perspective on anonymity in live kidney donation (ALIVE-project). - Coordination and conducting a qualitative study on public solicitation of living kidney donors.- Conducting a quantitative study on live kidney donation as major life event.

Teaching:- Teaching several workgroups as part of the 1st-year medicine course Start Tot Arts; the 2nd-year psychology course Stress, Health and Disease; and the 3rd-year psychology course Health Psychology. Research: - cooperating in a meta-analysis towards placebo effects on itch (co-author published article)- cooperation in a EEG-study towards itch in burn patients.

CBT treatment of self-management problems in patients with Diabetes Mellitus. Final grade internship: 9.0

Participation in RCT towards the effectiveness of a selfmanagement program (the Patient Education Program) for patients treated for pituitary adenomas. End product: master thesis (grade 9.0)

I conducted a qualitative study towards the experiences and outcomes of Life Review Therapy in a sample of palliative cancer patients, under the supervision of G. Kleijn, MSc, and dr. N. van Uden-Kraan (research group "Living together with cancer"). Final grade internship: 8.0
