In becoming a Director, I’m delighted to have been the first business professional to have joined the partnership - apparently in the 1% of business professionals as partners in UK Law Firms - some call us ‘non-lawyers’!In this role I'm responsible for overseeing operational activity within the business including marketing and business development, IT & technology, HR, facilities/premises management etc. And to top it off I get to work with some incredible colleagues at Actons, both in my team and across the business.I've worked in the legal sector for 20 years, mostly around Marketing & Business Development, but a large amount of time involved in projects that wider reach. I was promoted to Director & Chief Operations Officer in November 2022 - as a result Matt Coleman Limited, is a partner in the partnership of Actons.I lead a superb group of people across the Operations, Marketing & IT teams, who provide amazing support across the business.Some of the work we've done so far:- Launched a new intranet on SharePoint - improving the quality and accessibility of internal comms- Worked with colleagues on launching a new podcast series 'The HRD Talks' - not the normal legal podcast!- Rolled out a new cloud-based phone system- Recruited three new team members in Marketing & Operations- Project lead on a new IT infrastructure platform which saw the business migrate from on-site servers to a cloud based environment.- Leading on the refurbishment programme of our offices- And much more!

I worked within the Business Development & Marketing team at Harvey Ingram Shakespeares and Shakespeares (now Shakespeare Martineau, and previously Harvey Ingram), providing marketing and business development support across the firm, including major project work on mergers, branding and website development. Worked across Leicester, Birmingham and Milton Keynes.Key achievements:- Managed a substantial amount of the marketing/business development aspects of the merger between Harvey Ingram and Shakespeares in 2012, including work on branding, client communications, website, internal communications etc. Worked with Daljit Flora, Tim Percival, Hamish Munro and Jo Hunter.- Led the marketing/business development aspects of the merger between Shakespeares and Leicester based planning firm Marrons in 2013 working closely with the Marrons legacy partners especially Morag Thomson, John Edmond and David Pritchard. This involved managing the relationship between the two firm's for the first 12 months, all associated marketing and communications work - branding, client and colleague integration, client comms, website, collateral etc. Worked with Hamish Munro and the Marrons team.- Led the rebrand of planning consultancy Marrons Planning in 2014, including a new visual identity and collateral. This substantial project involved a full procurement process and working alongside one of the leading creative agencies to put a new brand proposition in place and develop initial ideas for a innovative new web presence.- Set-up a new consumer focussed personal injury brand, Lime. This brand (albeit with an updated visual identity) is still in use today as a national consumer law firm.
