Selected as 72nd Commanding Officer of USS CONSTITUTION, the country's ship of state and the world’s oldest commissioned warship afloat. Managed the operational employment, personnel, material, training, administration, safety and discipline of 75 officers and crew. • Collaborated across the Navy enterprise to include Naval Sea Systems Command, Navy History and Heritage Command, Defense Media Activity, the Navy Staff, and other customers to plan, coordinate, and execute USS CONSTITUTION’s second unassisted sail of the ship in over 131 years which resulted in over $40 million in equivalent advertising for the U. S. Navy.• Through proactive personal influence, built solid and beneficial relationships with customers including the National Park Service (NPS), USS Constitution Museum, Boston Police and Fire Departments, Massachusetts State Police, Massachusetts Port Authority, and the US Coast Guard. These relationships helped ensured CONSTITUTION and the crew were fully supported and capable of performing their mission. • Entrusted with a crew of 75 Sailors representing the American values of diversity and inclusion, improved Sailor-care by turning management focus through personal mentoring and fostering an ethical and professional environment resulting in a 15% increase in promotion advancement over the fleet average and an additional 10% reduction in Physical Fitness Assessment failures. Earned the Retention Excellence Award (only the 2nd time in the command’s history), two Blue H (Navy Surgeon General’s Health Promotion and Wellness Award), and a second 5-star accreditation for Food Service.
