Led a 16 member staff of military and civilian contractors and managed a $500K annual operating budget.• Ensured the squadron was maintained at a maximum state of readiness and ready for sea in all respects resulting in nearly 12,000 hours of underway steaming with zero mishaps in support of global operations.• Personally engaged International partners, coalition leadership, and Joint Force customers to provide an understanding of the mission, the strategic importance of the squadron presence in Diego Garcia, and opportunities for continued integration which enhanced cooperation between UK and US forces on the island including a 25% increase in mutual training events.• Developed a creative solution to the challenge of moving Embarked Security and Intelligence Teams to various other units by leveraging his ships’ underway periods which reduced the logistical challenges of moving the teams and equipment through non‐military facilities as well saved over 15% in travel costs while also improving turnaround time for the teams.

Led a 300-person cross-functional team composed of military, civilians and contractors in the analysis, intelligence support, strategic planning, and security to counter weapons of mass destruction. • Planned and executed a $24M annual budget through an operationally demanding and challenging budgetary environment resulting in 10% increase in intelligence and planning support to key Combatant Commands.• During a time of drastic restructuring, utilized strong leadership and team building skills to develop and retrain individuals in order to retain valuable talent. Authorized and aligned updates of over 100 position descriptions, created new departmental structures, and kept an anxious workforce informed of the changes and impacts, resulting in a seamless transition.

J-3/National Military Command Center

Chosen to guide a multi-service team that provided strategic warning to principal advisors of the President of the United States including Secretary of Defense and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs.• Developed initial analysis of world events and prepared operational reports for Joint Staff senior leaders. Worked with White House, Department of Defense, Combatant Commands, State Department, intelligence agencies, and international partners.• Assessed ballistic missile, air and space threats. Led the National Military Command Center response to threat warning and attack data to advise the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Secretary of Defense, and the President. • Trusted to provide accurate and timely advice to the President of the United States for employment of strategic nuclear weapons and ensuring nuclear command and control execution messages are properly sent to forces.

Selected as 72nd Commanding Officer of USS CONSTITUTION, the country's ship of state and the world’s oldest commissioned warship afloat. Managed the operational employment, personnel, material, training, administration, safety and discipline of 75 officers and crew. • Collaborated across the Navy enterprise to include Naval Sea Systems Command, Navy History and Heritage Command, Defense Media Activity, the Navy Staff, and other customers to plan, coordinate, and execute USS CONSTITUTION’s second unassisted sail of the ship in over 131 years which resulted in over $40 million in equivalent advertising for the U. S. Navy.• Through proactive personal influence, built solid and beneficial relationships with customers including the National Park Service (NPS), USS Constitution Museum, Boston Police and Fire Departments, Massachusetts State Police, Massachusetts Port Authority, and the US Coast Guard. These relationships helped ensured CONSTITUTION and the crew were fully supported and capable of performing their mission. • Entrusted with a crew of 75 Sailors representing the American values of diversity and inclusion, improved Sailor-care by turning management focus through personal mentoring and fostering an ethical and professional environment resulting in a 15% increase in promotion advancement over the fleet average and an additional 10% reduction in Physical Fitness Assessment failures. Earned the Retention Excellence Award (only the 2nd time in the command’s history), two Blue H (Navy Surgeon General’s Health Promotion and Wellness Award), and a second 5-star accreditation for Food Service.
