Provided administrative support to the late Mark Shields, nationally syndicated columnist and political analyst. Mr. Shields was most widely known as a panelist on “The News Hour with Jim Lehrer,” and moderator of CNN’s now-defunct “The Capitol Gang.” With many personal and public demands on his speaking schedule, this position required extensive logistical planning, with wide-ranging and complex travel, often involving speeches in several cities within a course of 3-4 days. Trip itineraries, travel documents and travel folders had to be coordinated and prepared for each speech date, as well as a more convenient pocket calendar and chronological daily pocket schedule. Mr. Shields also taught at Georgetown University, and this position supported Mr. Shields in this role. This position also involved communication and coordination with staff at “The News Hour with Jim Lehrer” with regard to Mr. Shields’ weekly appearances. Other duties as required.
