Professor Matthew Burke is the Transport Academic Partnership (TAP) Chair at Griffith University's Cities Research Institute. He coordinates much of Griffith's transport research under the TAP agreement, funded by the Queensland Government Department of Transport and Main Roads, and the Motor Accident and Insurance Commission. He is presently leading projects on demand-responsive transit, improved mode-choice modelling, cashless payments for public transport, and transport infrastructure agreements. Prof Burke has seen twelve students through to graduation of their PhD, eight of them as Principal or Co-Supervisor. We have excellent peer-support and supervision available. Many of our honours and PhD students have work placements with transport agencies during their program, gaining real-world experience. In addition to Prof Burke's research interests (i.e. travel behaviour, transport and land use, transport policy, public transport, walking, cycling, micromobility) we have experts in supply chain and logistics, transport psychology, transport engineering, transport sustainability and transport policy available to help supervise your program. The transport research team also undertakes transport research consulting, primarily in areas that advance conceptual/theoretical issues, develop new research methods, or seek to produce novel applied research findings for our clients.
