My job as a Non-Destructive Testing technician performs a wide range of inspections. I inspect building's welds and bolt connections. I perform ultrasound tests, Magnetic particle tests, Visual inspections, and/or dye penetrant tests of metal components. I am an API inspector, which allows me to either directly and/or manage a team to inspect, calculate remaining life, and approve repairs on pressure vessels and storage tanks. I work along with engineers and contractors to provide details and help on solutions that arise in the field

My job as a steel inspector consists of inspecting the welds and bolts to make sure they follow A.W.S. D1.1 and drawing specifications and checking the welder’s certifications. I work along with engineers and contractors to provide details and help on solutions that arise in the field. I have also worked with UT and MT testing methods. On top of being the steel inspector, I also help the concrete technicians by doing; concrete testing, rebar inspections, masonry inspections, epoxy inspections, and proof-roll inspection.

Quality Control: I worked in quality control as a fill in when one of the others were gone. I checked dimensions, weld conformance. I filled out proper paper work for error reports, daily inspection logs of what I inspected and who fabricated and welded it, and the paperwork to document the dimensions of the work piece for customer files. I performed work with MT, PT, and UT throughout the time I was with the company Fabricator: Interpret drawing and fabricate in accordance with the drawing specifications. Assist with double-checking measurements for quality control. Use equipment to transport. Weld when necessary. I was 4g unlimited thickness certified with FCAW & Sub-arc certified.
