As a Technical Account Manager for Principal Trading, I am responsible for supporting and growing a diverse portfolio of clients, consisting of banks, hedge funds and proprietary trading firms, ensuring seamless operations within high-performance trading environments.I collaborate with clients to resolve technical issues and work directly with customers to implement key functionality, such as setting up market quoting solutions and enabling algorithmic trading. My responsibilities also include troubleshooting complex system faults, ensuring clients stay operational in the market, and coordinating with engineering teams on issues requiring code changes.

At BGL Markets I was responsible for overseeing the technical and functional solutions of the business and traders. My role involved the management and maintenance of the businesses' IT systems and networks, whilst providing expert support. I endeavoured to ensure that the business operated at the highest level of efficiency and that traders had the technical solutions they needed to succeed.I developed an understanding of financial software solutions and the underlying financial instruments and markets such as futures, options and cryptocurrencies.In addition to my technical responsibilities, I worked closely with traders to design, build, and implement software solutions tailored to their specific needs. Examples of solutions I designed include: Databases to store market data and support future market analysis, An intranet containing charts for traders to analyse markets and display historic market movements, A web application to indicate arbitrage trade opportunities, A web application for options trades on cryptocurrency exchanges (alerting users based on certain strategies and characteristics).

I assisted in the maintenance and management of large storage clusters and their underlying Infrastructure. This included hardware and network maintenance and equipment installations at several data centres in the south east of England. I additionally provided product support to hundreds of customers acting as a third line escalation for any support issues. I was also in charge of identifying and escalating software bugs to the development team.The role also involved consultation with new and prospective customers, implementing products and services on customer systems including enterprise level disaster recovery solutions (notably Veeam).As part of this role, I was also in charge of the local office IT equipment and systems, such as firewalls, switches, telephony and user equipment.During my time in this role, I also worked proactively to improved the customer experience, creating a custom backup summary email for customers. I also improved business efficiency by automating company processes utilising Python, HTML, CSS, SQL and APIs.
