I have worked in the broad field of sustainability or environmental regeneration for over 24 years and retain a personal as well as a professional commitment to this subject. I have used my project management and leadership skills to deliver projects funded thorough Europe, The National Lottery and Local Authorities. I currently lead and direct The work of The Trent Rivers Trust, working with my team and partners to restore rivers, improve habitats, and engage people about the value of the River Trent and its tributaries. Prior to this I was a regional director for the charity Sustrans for 10 years. activities throughout the East Midlands from the regional base in Nottingham, overseeing a regional team and a variety of infrastructure and behaviour change projects. I am a member of the D2N2 ESIF sub-committee and remain committed to the old phrase of thinking global but acting local.I am an advocate of activities that lead to improved environmental sustainability, latterly leading the development of many projects that conserve and enhance the river environment both for wildlife and for people. I am motivated by establishing and managing successful projects that utilise my commitment to partnership working. I enjoy acting strategically but with local need at the heart of my work and aim to continue to support a wide range of environmental activities in The Midlands.
