I took on the branch manager roll at the Southend location in June 2019 as a previous manager who was running multiple sites left the business. I was responsible for the planning of day to day running of the local branch payroll and holiday authorisation as well as making sure that the branch hits the KPI’s set by the business, such as delivery targets as line picking and line fill targets. I also completed my IOSH H&S training to assist with my monthly H&S inspections I must do for the business.After a reshuffle of the operational side of the business I was given the opportunity to run one of the busiest sites for Cromwell in the southeast of the country. This site serves the Rail depots in the local area of London as well as many other customers. In August 2021 Cromwell opened a customer collection location in Maidstone which I am responsible for. This is also has increased my area that I serve to most of Kent, Essex and London.

In my roll I am involved in the daily running of the warehouse and trade counter for the branch. I am involved in the stock in and out of the warehouse to the customers as well as the Vending machines that we have off site. I also do the health and safety checks which include the emergency lighting checks, racking checks and fire safety checks. I moved into the sales office to take a roll as a salesperson to expand my knowledge of the business and set myself up with some more experience and knowledge of how the company works.

I was bought into the firm to manage and organize the 24000 Sq Ft warehouse so the stock can be stored and located easier. Also to ease tension between the warehouse staff and front of house staff in the busy season so that everything can run smoothly . Making sure stock levels are accurately recorded and that the system is kept up to date so that stock levels are accurate.

My duties include organizing the driver’s daily routes, collections and deliveries, maintaining the warehouse stock levels and notifying the production manager when levels are low on the chemicals/ paper stock. It also includes liaising with other companies that are doing outsourced work. I find out when the jobs will be to collect to enable delivery to our customers. This involves me being in constant communication with the customer representatives so that can keep our clients fully appraised of.

I was also Involved in the movement of printed work to out workers and finishers keeping track of when the work is due back in factory and when the delivery date is. Organizing the paper for the printers and making sure they have the correct paper and amount and reporting to my supervisor regarding any shortfalls or missing itemsHelping unload lorries and vans of printed material as well as chemicals used for cleaning and printing

As a Key Holder for the store I was included in Opening and Closing. This included the cashing up of till at the end of the day as well as making sure the enough change was present at the start of each day. My main duties were to organising the warehouse and ensuring Health and Safety compliance both internally and externally at all times, Receiving deliveries, monitoring them and querying any discrepancies in them with the individual companies concerned. Keeping The staff informed all where items can be found for each department. I liaising with head office and suppliers with regards to faulty stock and any queries with any faulty items on our deliveries. this involved emailing/ Phoning head office on a daily basis. Using the computer system so the records with regards to stock levels were correct and doing random stock checks on items to monitor levels of each department. Using the forklift truck on site using correct guidelines
