    Matt joined the pre-planning team at M-EC as a Transportation Engineer in September 2011 and was promoted to Senior Transportation Engineer after quickly becoming a key member of a four man team. Initially responsible for the production of all elements of Transport Assessments including scoping out the project methodology with local highway authorities, undertaking the assessment work and producing the reports Matt’s role evolved into a more senior position. In his time at M-EC greater involvement with clients, local highway and planning authorities as well as members of the public through the consultation process greatly increased Matt’s knowledge and experience of the planning system. A key part of Matt’s job was to ensure that M-EC’s reports continually adapted to consider bespoke issues on projects in order to ensure the delivery of a successful planning application. As a project manager Matt was also responsible for all elements of project management including client liaison, deadline monitoring, budget management and invoicing as well as the supervision and development of a Transportation Engineer and a Graduate Engineer through on-the-job training. Matt continued to develop his technical knowledge and skills on relevant software packages and has attended training courses at TRL and JCT to learn how to use ARCADY 8 and LinSig 3.2 as well seeking out new approaches to pre-planning projects in response to recent National and Local Government policy changes to the planning process such as “localism” and the National Planning Policy Framework.
