About Matt Hebert
Hello. Thank you for viewing my LinkedIn profile. If you're here to learn more about me, here are a few brief details to get you started:First, I've been sourcing and purchasing materials from local, national, and global suppliers for over seven years. My current employer, North American Lighting (NAL), produces exterior automotive lighting products to OEM clients. My role as Senior Buyer is focused on purchasing program management of printed circuit board assemblies and LED's from program award through start of production with budgets upwards of $350M (across two buyers). In my first two years I have sourced 10 programs, with over 70 parts, at an average of 18% under target. My previous position, Perceptron, produces products, metrology and measurement solutions primarily to automotive clients. My role as a Buyer is focused on forecasting, planning, and purchasing materials with multimillion-dollar budgets that have ranged from $13M to $20M. Second, I began my career in sales that has helped me better understand the tasks I'm doing as a buyer; e.g., advanced pricing strategies and quality management. For example, I monitored inventory controls and implemented a new inventory management system when I worked at Wenzel. These are skills that have helped me immensely now that I'm within a buying role. Third, I've had a lot of success adding revenue and controlling costs for my employers as well. During my early years with Coord3 (prior to it being purchased by Perceptron), I launched aftermarket sales, which secured $400,000 in the first year alone. As for cutting costs, I routinely audit supplier contracts and search for opportunities to either renegotiate to more favorable terms. Or, I research and select alternative suppliers as needed. As a buyer, I focus on these key areas of purchasing:— Supplier Diversification/Value Analysis — Budget Planning/Management— Contract/Price Negotiations— Supply Chain Analysis/Management— Global Sourcing & Procurement— RFPs/RFQs/RFIs Administration— Just-in-Time (JIT) Purchasing— Supplier Quality Verification — Cost Analysis/Reduction
Listed skills include Process Improvement, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Forecasting, and 24 others.
