Manage all aspects of credit risk for the company including establishing and enforcing credit policy and procedure, overseeing credit and collateral analysis, approving loan transactions, overseeing construction lending, active monitoring and management of risk in the loan portfolio including timely and accurate risk grading, and overseeing problem credits and OREO. Lead, coach, train and develop all credit staff. Assist in the development and implementation of new loan products.

Responsibilities consisted of managing all aspects of Zions Bank’s national commercial real estate lending business including budgeting, pricing, regulatory compliance, loan production, credit risk, construction lending, loan documentation, loan servicing and portfolio management. Credit authority of $3,000,000. Responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial real estate loans as large as $5.2 billion and staff of 115. Work directly with the OCC, internal credit examiners and internal audit. In 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 Zions was one of the top three SBA 504 lenders in the country.

Responsibilities included maintaining credit quality standards while producing rapid loan growth for the bank in its nationwide commercial real estate loan portfolio. Managed a staff of 65 individuals including regional credit managers, loan underwriters, credit analysts and the national commercial construction department. Credit authority of $2,500,000 individually and $5,000,000 jointly with the department’s assigned Credit Administrator. Department generated $1.2 billion in new term loans in 2006 and $1.5 billion in 2007.

Responsibilities included managing a team of ten underwriters covering the Northwest, Southwest and Midwest Regions of the US; reviewing and approving loans up to $1,000,000 and their related appraisals and environmental reports; assisting five business development officers in marketing Zions Bank’s nationwide commercial real estate loan co-origination/purchase program.

Responsibilities included underwriting commercial real estate term loans and assisting a business development officer in marketing Zions Bank’s loan co-origination/purchase program. Grew loan volume in the Midwest Region from annual volume of $2.8 million in 1999 to $135 million in 2002. Highest volume producer in 2001 and 2002 with $75.5 million in loan originations each year. Originated over $205 million in loan volume over three and a half years.

Responsibilities included origination of new SBA 7a and SBA 504 loans, credit analysis, presentation of loans to loan committee, SBA loan package preparation, loan document preparation, closing loans, collections and servicing the SBA loan portfolio.
