Industrial placement year as an engineer. I worked on a wide range of projects and engineering challenges in a number of different fields. This included design and development of medical and consumer devices for major international companies. Within these projects I: designed and ran test rigs; presented data to clients; and worked with colleagues in the design of new products. I was given a lot of responsibility within these projects and was regularly involved in client interactions. During this time, my competence with CAD packages vastly improved and I was able to utilise FEA, rendering features and data presentation programs for use in technical reports and client presentations.
