I was responsible for the development and growth of UBS in the South, South West & Wales.UBS is a global firm providing financial services to private, corporate, and institutional clients. We are present in all major financial centers and have offices in over 50 countries.I take the time to understand you and your financial needs and goals and, together, build a plan to help answer your questions.

I spent 6 enjoyable years at Coutts. Initially I joined to carry out the private banker role helping clients with their investment and lending requirements. In 2012 I specialised as a Investment Wealth Manager and by the time I left the business I advised over 2/3 rds of the Coutts Cardiff clients.From 2014 to 2016 Coutts was served with a section 166 past business review. In this period I remediated the client book whilst still growing the advisory business.

I joined HSBC as a Personal IFA and spent 3 years providing financial advice to the banks premier clients. This advice ranged from life assurance to pensions and IHT to investment planning. In 2007 I was promoted to a Commercial IFA. Initially I provided advice to SME businesses focussing on Keyman/Shareholder Protection and Investment/Pension planning for the business owners. I later worked with the Corporate Team advising FTSE 100 companies on liquidity management, establishing 300 man company pension schemes and advising key individuals during their company's IPO.

Whilst I worked here the business was called Nelson Money Managers which were later taken over by Close.My role was new client advisor. I grew the business in Wales through a series of presentations to the firms intermediaries. The prospects in turn attended the following presentations and became clients.This was focussed investment advice explaining the discretionary and cash management capabilities of the firm.

After travelling for a year and a half this was my first IFA role.The firm focussed on the IT sector specialising in setting up one man limited companies for IT contractors. As part of this role the firm sought to replace the benefits that the individuals would have forgone in leaving employment.My role was varied ranging from business development, educational lectures centring around changes to legislation (for example IR35) the formation of Limited Companies and independent financial advice.

Whilst I worked at this business it was Abbey NationalThis was my first employed position. Branch based I provided mortgage, pension, protection and investment advice to the bank's customers.

This was my first job out of University. At the time the business was Allied Dunbar however this later became Zurich.This was a self employed position providing personal financial advice. Whilst this was a "baptism of fire", Dunbar were ahead of their time when it came to the education of their advisers identifying professional qualifications as necessary years before it was adopted by the wider industry.
