Matt completed his Master of Landscape Architecture at Victoria University of Wellington in 2017 and a Bachelor of Architectural Studies (majoring in Landscape Architecture) in 2015. During his time at university, he was exposed to a diverse range of projects with a focus on designing for climate change and creating resilient spaces. He is interested in socially and ecologically sustainable design and strongly believes in the relationship between natural and built environments to create a holistic outcome.Matt is an advocate for accessible and inclusive design and designing within wilderness. His thesis, Enabling Wilderness, proposed the idea of a wheelchair accessible multi-day hike within New Zealand. He has post-graduate experience within the construction industry, where he completed his Horticultural apprenticeship whilst working on residential landscape construction projects.
