When I learnt of my Mum's schizophrenia, and difficulty finding work for a few years, it set me on a path to become passionate about mental health, helping others, and starting a social enterprise.Doing good and well has been my north star, guiding my work, which now includes leading change.At Leap201, I design programs with partners to uplift the low-wage families. Our latest: Insurance. Research will highlight the inequity in disability insurance, and catalyse solutions for a better society.My research partnership experience includes working with NUS WisDm to deliver a research project supported by Wellcome Trust Foundation, the largest mental health funder in the United Kingdom and globally. Wth funding from Tote Board, Singapore's largest grantmaker, NUS helped to deliver an IRB-approved research study examining the efficacy of Acceset's digital platform communication tools in improving well-being outcomes. The paper was published in JMIR Mental Health.Beyond research and program, I have led cross functional teams, possess experience in the management of product, P&L, sales and customer success, serving clients such as NTU, ITE and SP.Connect with me at matt.oon@leap201.org.The social entrepreneurship or intrapreneurship journey is not without challenge, which is why communities such as the Queen's Jubilee Trust, Philip Yeo Initiative, AVPN, Singapore International Chamber of Commerce, Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre and Tatler matters. They inspire confidence in me, foster growth through peer learning, and shaped me to become a better leader.I now strive to do the same to every established and future leader whom I meet through work.I am also on a path of professional development, with human resource accreditation as a priority. Ultimately, I aspire to be a leader to shape positive workplace cultures for meaning-driven workers.
