Manage a two person staff to develop new and expand existing product lines. This includes supervising and coordinating workloads, testing schedules, proto-type part development and budget management. Key projects:• Presenting new technology materials to customer design and sales teams to gain new business• Support communication between Japanese parent company and customer technical experts in order to deliver products that meet constraints as specified by multiple departments.• Coordinated multiple test events both in-house and outside contracted in order to meet customer’s schedule demands while still maintaining budgetary constraints.• Performed role of “Product Engineer” as well during heavy workload timing to support company staff.• Performed multiple audits of international assembly facilities to ensure products were being completed to customer’s expectations.• Accompanied customer to their build facility to support complete automotive assembly inspection. This was done to ensure the design intent was translated to the component build at our factory correctly and conformed to their assembly.

Design and develop wire harnesses, grommets, plastic protectors and specifications to satisfy customer needs within scheduling and budgetary parameters. This includes modification of existing designs and proprietary items using CATIA V5. Provide engineering solutions for customer and manufacturing division requests as well as information for prototype manufacturing. Key projects:• Serve as Project Leader of full model vehicle design supporting more than 50% of vehicle wire-harness assemblies• Create a detailed quality analysis of current production products to ensure continued value of product line by destructive testing and visual inspection• Contribute to design start-up for two full model vehicle changes and one minor model change• Participate in multiple cost saving activities in attempts to both get new business as well as improve cost of current production.• Coordinate information between suppliers and customers to enable prototype manufacturing and testing• Participated in data portal start-up project to streamline data sharing between customer and supplier. Enables the customer to see updated data in real-time rather than data transfers through download from FTP servers

Worked as part of AEP’s gridSMART Ohio initiative to discuss new electricity saving technologies with consumers at trade shows, festivals and workshops.Key projects:• Used my engineering background to discuss the advantages of AEP’s new technologies.• Helped train other team members on the equipment and principles being displayed by communicating directly with AEP engineers about the intent of the displays.• Helped with setup of displays at each event.

Selected for competitive cooperative education program with leading automotive manufacturer. Developed models, problem analyses and reports that were used in high-priority projects. Key projects:• Created 3-dimensional models using 2-dimensional wire harness drawings to avoid conflicts in design execution.• Created and modified wire brackets for use in future production vehicles• Ran stress simulations on brackets and other holders used to clasp components to car frames • Aided associates in problem identification and solution options for current production vehicles

Key projects:• Evaluated failed test units and compiled data into detailed analysis reports• Created Corrective Action Plans to be submitted to customers if Analysis Reports found flaws in design or manufacturing procedures• Learned the basic principles of braze welding used in the aerospace and automotive industry (e.g. Radiators, jet engine heat exchangers)• Worked on several Action Teams to create proposals on installation of new equipment in several test areas

Key projects:• Installed high density cooling units in test labs to simulate real-world conditions• Evaluated production units to test performance capabilities during severe load• Conducted long term data acquisition of multiple parameters and compiled results into reports used to either validate design intent or investigate re-design• Learned valuable skills used in laboratory test set up of HVAC units including electrical wiring of three phase motors, soldering (sweating) and brazing copper pipe by use of Oxygen-Acetylene torches
