Talent management is an essential bridge between an organization and its people. This role challenged me to be a dynamic "scientist-practitioner" and to manage cross-functional projects with a wide variety of stakeholders in order to drive change and help the organization make better talent decisions. I learned a tremendous amount from my diverse team of 11 nationalities.______________________________________________________________________________Key achievements:⬥ Leadership coach: I coached >300 leaders in frontline and mid-level roles, as well as high potentials from across the business. My mission as a coach is to help leaders build their organizational and interpersonal savvy to drive greater business results. I do this by challenging their self-limiting beliefs, finding creative ways to leverage strengths, and addressing gaps and risky behavior head-on to build self-awareness and create better alignment between their intent and impact.⬥ Talent analytics advisor: This was an entirely new role for me as a data manager that I had to quickly learn from a 30-year veteran in the space who was retiring. I built and managed data systems using predictive and prescriptive statistical models (advanced MS Office, Excel, VBA, SAP, HRIS) to analyze confidential performance, potential and readiness metrics that informed strategic decisions on our talent pipeline. Attention to detail and root cause analysis were critical to this role.⬥ Assessment SME: I represented corporate assessment strategy in talent reviews and succession management meetings, chaired by senior executives, helping business leaders understand their talent holistically and answering critical selection questions to guide talent decisions.⬥ Corporate partner to line HR: I partnered with Downstream HRBPs on their talent strategy. Through OD-style consulting, I drove organizational effectiveness by supporting HRBP objectives with assessment, workforce analytics and coaching interventions.

Saudi Arabia

In a company of 65,000 employees representing 100 nationalities, I deployed behavior change initiatives at scale and truly enjoyed the opportunity to work hands-on with a wide range of professionals across the business: doctors, teachers, lawyers, geoscientists, executives, designers, among other specialties. I was the only American on a fun and diverse team of 20.The below programs were conducted throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including remote installations, such as offshore GOSP rigs, deep desert work sites, and man-made islands.______________________________________________________________________________Key achievements:⬥ Partnered with business unit leaders in all functions to establish progressive interventions that improved employee productivity while reducing absenteeism and presenteeism.⬥ Facilitated workshops on wellbeing and ergonomics to audiences of 10-400 employees, including executive management, combining OSHA guidelines and best practices to reduce chronic disease risk and prevent workplace injury.⬥ Conducted Health Risk Evaluations on 50-100 employees/month, which included behavior change coaching, medical history, lifestyle evaluation, blood pressure, blood sugar, and body composition analysis.⬥ Researched and developed "The New Science of Sleep" seminar, illustrating compelling evidence on the impact of sleep patterns on performance and behavior in the workplace.⬥ Modernized our "Optimize Your Stress" program, shifting the focus from stress prevention to stress utilization as a powerful productivity tool.⬥ Delivered quarterly 4-day Wellness Champion courses for employees from all Business Lines, empowering participants to become change agents in their own organizations to cultivate health and productivity.⬥ American Heart Association (AHA) First Aid & CPR instructor. Certified more than 150 employees.

I have strong values around wellbeing that enable me to stay resilient, present and fulfilled - most of the time! It was a privilege to be a wellness coach to so many, where I deepened my capacity to build trust, drive behavior change and help people grow into better versions of themselves. Additionally, I found that an indirect benefit of working in this field is the opportunity it provided me to deepen my own self-awareness and learn to live intentionally.______________________________________________________________________________Key achievements:⬥ As an entrepreneur, grew and maintained a steady, profitable services business of long-term clientele in multiple countries, with both remote and face-to-face training and support.⬥ Mentored and coached 20 young athletes, building their physical strength, stamina and agility, while challenging and elevating their emotional maturity and resilience as individuals. Many of these youths have gone on to become nationally recognized, record-setting high school, university and professional-level athletes in multiple countries. A very meaningful and rewarding focus of my practice!⬥ Coached hundreds of adult clients on building and maintaining their physical and mental wellbeing. ⬥ Developed behavior change expertise at the individual level.⬥ As a biomechanics and wellness SME, facilitated train-the-trainer clinics and community outreach sessions.⬥ Maintained professional certifications from industry-leading organizations: American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA), USA Weightlifting, and CrossFit.

Costa Rica

This was an exciting opportunity to move abroad and take on a high-trust operational role in a start-up business, working in a bilingual capacity as the only member of a 10-person business living in Costa Rica.______________________________________________________________________________Key achievements:⬥ Start-up experience: operated as the sole in-country presence in Costa Rica for a California-based developer on a luxury resort project, coordinating on-the-ground support, sales and logistics.⬥ Bilingual business partner with contractors to support TPL business operations.⬥ Built an Education Foundation as a side project, to support local public schools. This was an idea I presented to the local Chamber of Commerce and volunteered to lead. The smallest schools consisted of a single room and only 12 students, and most lacked basic supplies and the ability to communicate their needs. We visited all schools in the precinct and built support from the local and expat communities to fulfill critical resource needs. I started a campaign in my company to transport donations of school supplies from the US and personally delivered them to the schools in need.⬥ Volunteered as an English teacher for 1 year in a small, 1-room school with only 25 children ages 8-12.

Running a small business taught me a lot about customer service, basic finance and performance management of staff. The practice of fitness training also allowed me to be a scientist-practitioner by applying my expertise on behavior change and biomechanics. I found it rewarding to help others define and achieve their personal wellness vision, and the trust and authentic connections that were forged in the process brought deeper meaning to my work.______________________________________________________________________________Key achievements:⬥ Coached over 300 clients in 1-on-1 sessions over 5 years. I would begin by helping them discover their own wellness values and use those to craft a personal vision for an upgraded lifestyle. ⬥ Worked with my business partners to implement a fitness instructor internship program for aspiring personal fitness trainers studying Exercise Science at San Diego City College.⬥ Conducted Train the Trainer sessions for interns and employees of Edge Fitness, Inc.⬥ Led nutrition, fitness, and wellness seminars for large local corporations, such as San Diego Sheriff’s Department, San Diego State University, San Diego Gas & Electric, and Cox Communications.⬥ Held interviews and performance evaluations for interns.

I joined the Marine Corps to challenge myself, gain adventurous global experience and build maturity. It was one of the greatest and most humbling growth periods of my life. The incredible ethos, discipline and grit of the Corps accelerated my growth and broadened my worldview, and the models of leadership and team performance I learned are principles that continue to guide me.______________________________________________________________________________Key achievements: ⬥ Earned the title “Marine of the Quarter” in our squadron of 200+ Marines in Q1 1999.⬥ A member of the first team of Marines in history to perform ship-to-shore operations with UAVs, while on a 5-month deployment on a 610-foot long US Navy LSD amphibious warfare ship carrying 400 Sailors and Marines.⬥ We were also the first team to introduce UAV/drone tactics and technologies to the armies of Australia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Brazil and South Africa.⬥ Considerable training and experience with personnel management, including troop education, conflict resolution, and performance management.⬥ Scored a 99th percentile on the US military’s enlistment aptitude examination (ASVAB), which norms against tens of thousands of applicants from all branches of service.
