It's been an incredible blessing to work as a hospital chaplain. Some skills I've learned are counseling patients, offering support to patients' families, providing interventions that addressed spiritual needs, demonstrating empathy and emotional availability, and simply being a part of an interdisciplinary team.I still have a passion for church ministry. Taking a break has enabled me to engage in some much needed self-care. I've truly been able to find myself - my true identity - over the past half-year or so. My priorities and perspective have changed for the better. In a nutshell, my communication and leadership skills lend themselves to preaching and teaching. But now I have added compassion and pastoral care to the proverbial toolbox. Put differently, I believe that I more well-rounded than ever.
