Sole QA Person for a new software product that tracks, reports on, and suggests optimisations for ocean freight and oil vessels. I was brought on to do manual testing, but have also automated testing using Python & Selenium. I've written a Python script that tests the dev build daily to detect any performance issues with service and API calls and emails a performance report.

Most recently, I started with i4 Insight as a contractor doing Software QA.From 2017 through 2018, took on a number of website projects using WordPress and a few consulting gigs.From 2014 to 2016, I started my company as a computer repair business, Computer Gremlin Extermination (CGE Computers). In the Denver market that's saturated with competitors, I dialed in Google Adwords so that every dollar I spent on marketing would produce $4 in revenue in a highly saturated, competitive market. I hired a top notch technician who earned us 5 solid stars on Google Maps Reviews. As his family grew and he couldn't ride out the volatility of a small business with me anymore, I was a solid reference for him when he found a more stable job. In 2016, I passed my customer list to a competitor for a commission deal that I get quarterly payments on.

Verical was an incredible experience! I worked as a Software Tester with an absolutely stellar development team. We had 6 consecutive on time major releases under an aggressive development schedule.I also managed the company's PC's, Macs, hosted servers and networks. With locations in Denver, San Francisco, and Scotland it was sometimes challenging, but very rewarding.My most valuable lessons as an aspiring entrepreneur were getting an inside view of watching a Venture Capital funded startup grow and sell for 20 million to Arrow Electronics in 2010 and learning how to hire top notch talent. As we grew and I struggled to keep on top of my IT responsibilities and software testing, I was fortunate enough to be involved with interviewing and hiring a QA Person who in many ways surpassed my QA abilities.

GroupSystems was an excellent first experience for my professional career. I was hired as a software testing intern in 2006, but quickly grew into the lead software tester, IT person, and did occasional customer support as the small company's needs evolved. I had a big, corner desk with 6-8 computers on it at any given time that I would use to test GroupSystem's collaboration software. It felt like nerd heaven at the time! I always had a knack for finding odd problems with software and could finally enable a development team to fix on a large scale.As management learned that I was good at fixing computers, I quickly became responsible for maintaining the company's laptops and servers. One of my biggest wins in terms of IT at GroupSystems was writing a cost/time analysis and convincing the CEO to spend $27,000 on new laptops for the whole company, showing that they would pay for themselves in a few months.As a Customer Support person, I got to help big businesses like Proctor and Gamble and PricewaterhouseCooper, a number of US Military clients, and international consultants.
