Data Center Migration & Data Center ServicesProvide technical services and operational support for the migration of a major web based application within the department of Veteran Affairs to a new data center. At a high level, this includes:1. Migration support of the current production application to the new cloud hosted environment 2. Implementation of the new cloud environment3. Technical support to maintain the new cloud environment. The new cloud environment provides a scalable computing platform for the following:1. Scalable Capacity to pursue the goal of growing from its existing base of 2.1 million users to a user population of 10 million or more within 5 years2. Virtualization and server clustering for speed, scalability and reliability3. Implement Deployment & Configuration Management procedures to support AGILE Development of the core application4. Provide for the ability of COOP and Disaster Recovery (DR) resulting in nearly non-interrupted services to Veterans. Migration Responsibilities include:• Build out and burn in of Production, Development, Load & Performance, and Pre-Production environments (physical servers, virtual servers, SAN/Filers, interconnects, etc.)• Major Application migration/installation and configuration from existing data center • Architect, Administration of new environments.• Migrate Production Data• Application Support• Application monitoring & Data analytics• Integration Testing, Regression Testing, and Field Testing of application in new cloud environment.• Security – working with the VA security team to obtain Authority to Operate, submit A & A documentation, perform penetration testing, Security Control Assessment (SCA), etc.Documentation Deliverables Include:1. Manage the creation a new management tool which tracks all IT projects within the department of Veteran's Affairs (VA) called the PMAS Dashboard (PMAS stands for Project Management Accountability System).At any given time there are 300-600 active IT projects within the VA). The tool tracks status, issues, budgetary considerations, serves are an artifact repository, and submits to the office of Budget & Management (OMB). Previously managed the project with the VA Nation Wide Health Information Network to "on-board" Private Sector Health Networks to exchange Electronic Health Records with VA & DoD.
