Partnered with internal teams to enable migration to Public Cloud. As a team, we delivered on the following initiatives:• Operating System engineering for both Public and Private Cloud.• Windows AMI in AWS, enabling internal customer to build a Citrix environment in AWS, simulating SmartLook agent load within TurboTax Online, providing a quick and cheaper alternative to building this internally. Windows AMI was also used by QuickBooks Online during initial migration to AWS.• Delivered Enterprise Linux alternative operating systems leveraging CentOS, Oracle Linux, and Amazon Linux, helping reduce licensing costs with RedHat.• Led efforts to modernize existing legacy bare metal provisioning system (HP Server Automation / Opsware), by leveraging open-sourced software including Saltstack, Cobbler, and Chef.• Delivered a common AMI lifecycle management process and providing a global AMI bakery process that allows customers to improve AWS restack times.• Enabled business to correlate application and infrastructure events by implementing a central time series monitoring system by implementing a central time series monitoring system leveraging graphite, grafana, influxdb, and collectd. Ability to visualize storage, compute, network, and application metrics/events in a single dashboard. Customer feedback "Simply being able to directly observe the relationship between concurrent users and infrastructure utilization gave us the confidence we needed to manage to the actual demand rather than just projection. This is recognized as a key win for CTG driving conversion up 11 points and NPS up 18 points! As a staff systems engineer, provided Unix support and automation support to internal IT customers. Responsible for Sun Solaris platform, including hardening the OS to meet security needs, delivering a virtual Solaris Container environment similar to VMWare ESX, and building a provisioning, patching, and reporting system that was used in 12+ data centers.• Selected to attend high potential leader training – Intuit Fast Path (2008) and FastPath II (2011), to accelerate the development of high potential leaders at Intuit.• Implement, engineer, and maintain HP Server Automation infrastructure to provide automation of OS deployment, patching, and reporting via a common tool. Teams relied heavily on this tool for all internal patching, OS deployments, and all OS level reporting including security scans during high priority vulnerability remediation.• Delivered Solaris Container environment allowing a virtual Sun Solaris operating environment across data centers, including designing, implementing, and operationalizing the platform. Leveraged Solaris Containers, Veritas Cluster Server, Veritas File System, Veritas Volume Manager, and several scripts.• Managed Sun Solaris operating system baseline used across all Solaris systems at Intuit. Collaborated with vendor on release map and hardware interoperability matrix, working closely with internal teams to ensure platform meet their needs.

Worked closely with development teams to test, deploy, and manage platform, managed 200+ systems running Windows, Solaris, and Tru64 OS ensuring application was highly available. • Led transition to new backend datastore, from Solaris NFS to HP Tru64 NFS increasing performance & uptime of the environment and improving stability of the back-end data store. Solved critical file fragmentation issue during tax season working closely with HP, resulting in zero customer impact.• Worked closely with TurboTax Online application team in dev/qa/testing/production environments, performed all code deployments.• Created a log harvesting process to push all production logs to a system that teams could investigate issues quickly, meeting necessary security controls.• Developed a platform that would display concurrent users, providing key business leaders insight into overall platform health.• Awarded Intuit Chipman Award in 2002 due to deliverables during tax season.
