Head Of Selling On Amazon Marketplace, Self-Service Business
Greater Seattle Area
The Selling on Amazon business recruits and enables 3rd party sellers to sell their products on Amazon. Collectively 3rd party sellers ship approximately 30% of the total units shipped to Amazon customers annually.I managed and led a recruitment business within the Selling on Amazon division to performance: recruiting new sellers through search marketing (SEO & SEO), acquisition marketing (including paid media, CPC, CPA, affiliates) and web site monetization (including merchandizing, offers, discounting, and promotions). I also oversaw operations and brand management for AmazonServices.com, the portal for recruiting new sellers to Amazon. My global team generated over 60% of the total sales annually from the new sellers recruited, representing a multibillion dollar business opportunity for Amazon. I was also responsible for assessing competitive threats, developing strategies for and executing on new market development, defining go-to-market programs for new products/services, PR and AR, and generating actionable customer research. For two consecutive years my team exceeded recruitment goals in the tens of thousands of new sellers, listing goals in the millions of new units and revenue goals in the hundreds of millions of dollars. I managed my team to build innovative new programs and platforms that enabled my business to grow without constraint. My hyperfocus on the inputs that drove the business, and a clear operational plan to support and measure it, was critical to my success as a leader. My responsibility also included reporting and defending the state of my business to Jeff Bezos directs (SVPs), VPs, Directors and my peers. This included weekly, quarterly business and annual business plan reviews.During my tenure I was selected by the SVP and VP of our organization to participate in a highly coveted week long leadership training--which focused on developing high potential managers into world-class leaders.
