I am currently an Instructional Designer II at Orbis Education, where I work with faculty to create student-centered, active learning-based courses. I am also part-time faculty at the University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley, where I teach Masters and Doctoral courses in Educational Technology and Instructional Design. Prior to working at Orbis, I spent nearly 15 years at the University of Texas at Arlington as both a Learning Innovation Researcher and an Instructional Designer. Through my work at UTA, I began pioneering a new course design methodology that allows for customizable pathways through course content. I am also available for web design consultation and free lance online course design, as well as presenting informative sessions on a wide range of topics.I have been involved in education since 1994. I created my first web page in 2000 - which I used to deliver supplemental materials to an 8th grade Science class I was teaching at that time. I have been involved in distance education in some way ever since then. In March 2007 I started EduGeek Journal, an online resource promoting educational technology. I also occasionally present at conferences, as well as give instructional sessions on different aspects of online learning and other issues.
