DoorDash is the leading online food delivery platform in the US with a goal of empowering local economies. With 500,000+ merchant partners, the company has rapidly scaled its operations into new markets and verticals.I joined DoorDash in early 2022 as a Marketing Project Manager for DoorDash Drive, an industry-leading platform for merchants to start, operate, and grow their own 1st party channels. I project managed the operations of a new test product for Drive, Marketing as a Service (MaaS), a segment focused exclusively on small businesses that lacked marketing “savviness”. Our team would consult with these merchants on delivery-focused marketing campaigns, and executed media buying, strategy, and planning for them (essentially a small, in-house marketing agency). I established and oversaw all of MaaS’s processes, using Airtable to streamline our work. I also tracked all campaign performance and managed our budget, POs and invoicing. My efforts streamlined our entire workflow: from merchant contracts, to campaign tracking, to final wrap-report share out.In the first half of 2023 my priorities shifted to Drive’s Strategy & Operations team, where I spearheaded marketing ops and efficiencies. I led an initiative to fully overhaul an existing, but lackluster, marketing process. Key components included: 1. creating a net-new approvals workflow that gave the team more controls around managing our quarterly $5M+ budget more wisely, 2. redesigning the team’s campaign tracking dashboard via Google Sheets 3. introducing reporting and an automated pulse on the number of campaigns (and attributed budget) in each stage and 4. creating a contractual funds database to see our total budget opportunity at the merchant-level, informing the team of how to use our funds more strategically. Overall, this revamp gave Drive Marketing the tools and data to close the gap on our spend underage from $1M in Q1 to $300K in Q2, as well as achieve a 20% lift in incremental delivery volume.
