As Staff Writer I was tasked with managing the social media channels, writing editorial content for N-Photo magazine, the digital edition and Digital Camera World website.

I was the Content Manager for Camera Jungle, an online camera retailer specialising in used and new digital SLRs, Compact System Cameras, compact cameras and lenses. My main responsibilities included creating new editorial content such as writing descriptions of the cameras, lenses and accessories Camera Jungle carries. For this I have established a style guide, word counts and a schedule of content. I managed the entire social media output for Camera Jungle, posting to Facebook four times a week and communicating with customers via our Twitter account. Our Facebook page has grown from 0 to over 6,000 likes in under six months, and I schedule posts at the start of each week to promote relevant competitions, products or photographers. I am also in charge of the Swedish, French and German websites, which includes managing the flow of content to the translators, re-coding pages and making sure all work is completed to a deadline. My role also included designing and coding each article, creating simple-to-navigate Buyer's Guides, instructional articles and product descriptions. I managed the advertising and marketing of Camera Jungle, commissioning advertorials within relevant magazines and websites including ePhotozine and Amateur Photographer. I also controlled the budget for general advertising, deciding which platforms to advertise with and negotiating extra coverage for press releases and lending products in exchange for web links and editorial content. I maintain constant contact with numerous industry contacts, from manufacturers through to journalists, to insure Camera Jungle is informed well in advance of product launches, promotions and relevant editorial coverage so the company can be positioned in the most effective manner.

Editor of What Digital SLR, a biannual magazine, in a freelance capacity

In my role as Digital Production Editor for What Digital Camera I managed the flow of content onto the website as well as managing the YouTube channel and interactive edition of the magazine, which is hosted on iPad, iPhone and Android devices. I wrote the majority of the online content for the website, including news and reviews, and managed the editorial and multimedia content produced by other members of staff and freelance contributors.

During my five years at Imagine Publishing I progressed from the; working on Digital Video Techniques, Practical Digital Video, Digital Camera Buyer and Digital Camera Essentials. Three of the titles I worked on were new launches and I was heavily involved in creating the visual look and feel of the publication, feeding into managerial decisions on layout and editorial planning of each. I also played a vital role in launching Digicambuyer.co.uk, helping to maintain the flow of news, features and forum responses.
