Founder
CurrentBuilding on 15 years of investing experience in software, I founded Cloud Ratings as a research analyst boutique to fill 2 gaps:1. ROI: - For all of the transparency in the business of software (like benchmarks + playbooks), there is too little focus on *quantifying* customer ROI. - This gap exists since ROI quantification is a somewhat specialized skill to cover the "last mile" (most marketers + executives get 80%-90% of the way there...and get stuck before they have a working ROI model)- Analyst business models haven't helped. Forrester's "Total Economic Impact" offering pricing is far, far out of reach of almost any software vendor. - Our True ROI product line is designed + priced to be accessible to all software vendors. - True ROI report sample here: https://research.cloudratings.com/link/9294/2. A Different Take On Quadrants:- The growth of software user review platforms has been a huge positive. However, that growth has led to "review sprawl" and their algorithmic nature leads to overwhelming category maps. - Cloud Ratings angle: First, we apply *human analyst* curation to narrow each category to the most relevant vendors- Then we combined publicly observable data points - including all of the major software review platforms - with *private vendor data* sourced through our Request For Information (RFI) process with vendors. - Our quadrants are set according to market share and customer satisfaction. Said differently, "completeness of vision," "ability to execute," and qualitative opinions on "strategy" are NOT part of our quadrants. We view our market share + customer satisfaction methodology as reliable, meritocratic, and repeatable. Importantly, if this research analyst *boutique* model resonates with you, we are *selectively* recruiting at the Principal Analyst and True ROI *Practice Leader* levels. While open to high-caliber entrepreneurial talent that wants to build and own practice areas (i.e. alt data, private equity advisory)
