Hi there! I’m Matthew, I have recently completed my Master of Science degree in Governance of Sustainability at Leiden University, in The Netherlands. Since completing my degree I have taken on the role of a Waste Collection & Diversion Advisor for the Niagara Region. I am dedicated to urban nature based solutions, biodiversity, green infrastructure, and sustainable development. I aim to apply my skills to synthesize innovative solutions that help society meets our current needs without sacrificing those of the future.My final MSc thesis was focused on optimal green roof placement to maximize ecosystem services while considering the demands of the inhabitants of Toronto. This transdisciplinary project has me excited about inner city relations pertaining to sustainability. Prior to pursuing my Master of Science, I completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology at Brock University, Ontario. During this time, I had the opportunity to complete NSERC-funded research projects, which led to a joint publication in the Canadian Journal of Zoology.
