I graduated with a 1st Class Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Staffordshire University in 2012 and quickly got a job with Demag Cranes as a Design Engineer. I am proud to have personally designed bespoke industrial cranes for many industry leading manufacturers like:Rolls Royce, Tata Steel, NDA (Nuclear Decommissioning Authority), Airbus, SiemensDuring my 6 years with Demag I progressed to Senior Design Engineer and then Projects Engineer where I was not only responsible for the overall design of the cranes, but also the commercial side, putting together quotes, costings and technical specifications into a profitable product to satisfy our customers' needs.While working I bought and renovated myself a rental property portfolio. These are now high quality and low turn over Houses of Multiple Occupation (HMO) that have been generating between 12% and Infinite Net ROI (depending on finance structure) since 2013.I left Demag in 2018 and focussed on my property career full time where I’ve managed 2 large renovations projects. Here I took on the organisation of multiple trades, suppliers and agencies both with budgets in excess of £100k.At this time, I started Lens Property Management Ltd to manage the HMO’s for myself and selected clients in the West London, Oxfordshire and Birmingham areas. I also offer my HMO Landlord experience to other investors on a consultancy basis or as a project manager for specific properties.I am currently the Project Manager for a £1.2M renovation of a historic Georgian town house conversion into 11 holiday flats in central Glasgow. Currently undergoing significant structural repair and modernisation, as many historically sensitive features are being retained as possible while still aiming to create a modern and practical living environment. I’m so excited to be working on this historic building because every time I went to site with Demag, I would enjoy seeing the technology and workmanship in the industrial buildings and cranes that we were replacing. While at weekends, I enjoyed going for walks around Oxfordshire villages staring at the historic buildings and architecture. I have developed an understanding that I value the high quality of workmanship, rigorous attention to detail and desire to preserve and re-use the magnificent artistic and engineering products of the past. However, from my continuing property investment success, I have a keen eye on making sure these projects retain healthy financial returns to maintain these properties for generations to come.
