Partnering with the Rod and Bar Mill, I am responsible for the day to day operations of the Human Resource requirements for the business unit. I support the management team in all Human Resources related issues where necessary receiving support from centralised functions including payroll, recruitment and L&D. I support the management team in developing strategies for succession planning and talent management, more specifically in the recruitment and selection of key individuals and providing advice to line managers so that talent can be effectively developed and retained.

My core responsibility in this position was to manage the recruitment department for Celsa UK. This included the responsibility and management of 3 recruitment officers and a HR Graduate. My role involved the development of the recruitment function into being able to deliver an effective service to our internal customers in a fast paced, high volume environment. I liaised regularly with both senior and department managers to effectively understand and deliver their recruitment requirements. I was responsible for a number of KPI's including recruitment spend, days to recruit and customer satisfaction.Alongside my recruitment focus I also provided generalist HR advice to our operational and support department units in Celsa Manufacturing where required.

I was responsible for undertaking all activities associated with the recruitment of employees for Celsa UK. This includes our Melt Shop, Rod and Bar Mill and Sections Mill facilities. I was also involved in the recruitment of employees for our fabrication depots located throughout the UK that make up Celsa Steel Services.

I was responsible for a wide variety of tasks including absence management, Learning and Development and Payroll. I liase regularly with third party training providers as well as being involved in all aspects of the our Learning and Development action plan. I was also responsible for the time and attendance system (Crown) as well as the HR system (Empower).

This was a gap year role that I undertook inbetween the 2nd and 3rd year of my degree course. I was responsible for the administrationof the time and attendance system (clockwise). Responsible for absence management as well as Health and Safety and Environmental Administration
