I am experienced as a general counsel for a $9B brand and a $1B+ Canada business, and as lead real estate counsel embedded in a critical P&L function of a global retail enterprise with a significant portfolio of real estate assets. Prior to this role, I worked in the business division of a reputable national law firm, where I received strong training as a real estate attorney in the areas of acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, land use and financing. In addition to being a leading expert in real estate transactions and litigation, I also have relevant substantive experience in commercial transactions of many types, governmental affairs, and employment and corporate matters, and hold certifications in leadership and mediation. Active engagement in civic and community endeavors has been central to me throughout my legal career, having served as pro bono counsel, advisor, board director and secretary to several nonprofit organizations.
