Responsibilities include managing Database Administration, Exchange Administration, Backup Administration, Network Administration, Storage Administration and Virtualization Administration. Took over project management for a failing project to upgrade the disaster recovery data center and in 4 months completed the project. Ran disaster recovery test that had not been run in 2 years. Installed an operations management tool called Orion Solarwinds to consolidate all operation management tools into a single visible platform used by all of IT, not only the infrastructure team. Solarwinds implementation reduced performance issues and downtime throughout all systems. Identified performance issues in our SAN. Reduced nightly job run time by 2 hours. Lead team to upgrade Active Directory from 2003 to 2008 and upgraded fileserver from windows 2003 to 2012 with no issues afterward. Designed a new backup infrastructure using Commvault. Designed new network infrastructure to include implementing NAC on the wifi network to improve quality of experience for users. The Infrastructure team was made up of underachievers, and all projects have been stagnating for many years. Main job function for Infrastructure team was to motivate employees, build confidence, impart knowledge, and remove fear of the unknown, so that progress could be accomplished. Example: LWCC purchased a data circuit that was idle for 2 yrs and 5 months. In 4 months, I lead my team to develop a project plan and implement that new circuit and decommission the old circuit, saving the company thousands of dollars.

Sole IT architect for Edgen Group. During my tenure, designed and managed the implementation of MS Sharepoint 2010, MS Lync 2010, Cisco Call manager v8.5, Oracle User Productivity Kit v11, and Information Builders Webfocus v8.0 Reporting tool. Key in replacing the order management, account receivables, accounts payables, warehouse, and reporting systems. Edgen moved from Oracle ERP to a software package call Invera Stratix 9.2 ERP system which entailed changing architecture from Oracle databases to IBM Informix database. Able to lead my teams in learning the new technology and implement hot site replication to allow fail over of the applications to our disaster recovery site in Dallas. Real world failover testing every year. Process took 24 hours to fail over to Dallas, Test the system, then fail back to Baton Rouge. Managed the in-house/contract developers and the DBA team. Due to current programming skills able to jump in and fix the integration and migration programs the developers were struggling with on new Stratix ERP system. Designed and implemented an eCatalog interface with Valero’s SAP ERP system using the OCI interface for purchase requisitions and quotes. Upgrades during my tenure: MS Lync 2010 to Skype for Business 2015; Invera Stratix v9.2 to v9.4, Information Builders Webfocus v7.1 to v8.0. Upgrading Webfocus. Architected the new Webfocus system to be an active reporting tool so that in house developers could maintain and meet Edgen’s reporting needs without having to outsource the development. Maintained the SOX documentation for the IT general controls and passed SOX audits every year.

Setup an Enterprise Architecture program. Developed processes to get on the front end of IT projects to design the proper infrastructure to meet the needs of those projects. 66% of all the Architecture reviews for the Shaw Group were completed personally. Developed a custom build CMDB using SSRS, SSIS, MS SQL, and MS Sharepoint services to communicate the relationship between applications, servers, networks, storage and people.

Placed in charge of eight employees and a budget of $2.8 million. Responsibilities include all open systems to include the follow technologies: Microsoft, IBM AIX, HP UX, VMWare, and RedHat LINUX. At the Shaw Group Inc, the philosophy is “Manager Doers”, so while managing workers was the key employee to maintain the backup & recovery environment, enterprise storage environment, interfaces to Cognos Finance application from our ERP system in JD Edwards on AS/400 platform, implementation of SOX applications, infrastructure design and capacity planning for all new applications. Successfully lead the Disaster Recovery project through implementation and testing. Continued to be the Senior UNIX System Administrator (see the job description below) as well as managing the team of Administrators. Key player in budging and planning infrastructure projects related to the corporate data center.

Responsibilities include backup/recovery using Tivoli Storage Manager and Veritas Backup Exec; System administrator of IBM AIX and Redhat linux; IBM Enterprise System Storage; Tivoli Storage Manager; Cognos data warehouse and Decision Stream administration. There are multiple legacy Oracle 10.7 and 11i on an HP UX platform that was in charge of maintaining.

Managed 4 employees. Responsible for maintaining all Oracle Databases to include the financial database system using Oracle 10.7 and 11.03. Duties include system administration on IBM 3090 running MVS, IBM RS6000 hardware running AIX 5.2 and Windows 2000 servers running Citrix Metaframe 1.8. Lead DBA and System Administrator in implementing Oracle Financials 10.7. Lead team to converted Oracle Financials from IBM mainframe 370 to IBM AIX 4.3. Assisted team in the upgrade from Oracle Apps 10.7 to Oracle Apps 11.03.

Earned Firefighter of the year for excellence in showing up to serveral failing ingagements and turning the project around to a successfull conclusion. Started in Rapid application development using Designer 2000, Oracle Forms and Reports. Moved into Database Administration and then finishing up in Oracle Finanacial 10.7 and 11i.

Design and implement new technologies to include Lotus Notes, OS/2 Warp, AIX student information systems. Lead designer in developing the www.lsu.edu website. Maintain the Library Catalog and help convert and consolidate several University Catalogs in to the LOUIS project where the universities can share books. Designed; configured; installed; and maintained end-user computers and routers in every Louisiana parish libraries plus some high schools, 80 installations total.

Served in several positions from Platoon Leader to General Construction Officer company level. Attended and graduated from Engineering Officer's Basic Course November 21, 1990. Attended and graduated from Engineering Officer's Advanced Course June 23, 1993. Successfully lead several construction projects to include construction of barracks for the Bahama Defense Force; Metal Storage Build for Jackson Barracks New Orleans; Metal Storage building Amman Jordan after the first Gulf War in 1991. This is were I picked up Project management skills.

General Construction Operator. Operated air compressors, dump trucks, back hoe, compactors. Attended and graduated from Louisiana Army National Guard Office Candidate School August 19, 1989.
