Served with the 5502nd USAH, maintaining troop readiness within the unit's laboratory. Worked a 1 year activation at Fort Benning, GA(Aug 2013- Aug 2014)working in the Sullivan Memorial Blood Donor Center where I interviewed and phlebotomized prospective donors, as well as maintaining the discipline and fitness required to be a member of the US Army.

Worked as an MLS certified technician in a level 1 trauma center laboratory. Duties included working the bench in the following departments:Hematology(using a Beckman Coulter LH1500 series instruments, as well as manual ESR's) Chemistry(Using a Siemens Vista)Urinalysis(Using dipsticks and on the Iris)Coagulation(Using the BCS XP from Siemens), and limited microbiology(plating, blood cultures, and gram stains only).CSF and Body Fluids manual cell reading and staining.Rapid testing and POC instruments, including Abbot iStat, Haemonetics TEG 5000 Thrombelastograph, HIV/pregnancy rapid testing, Vidas for Procalcitonin, Avidia Centaur for certain chemistries.
