I started my networked career in the mid 90's in public safety, working as an EMT and gaining experience in law enforcement and private security. Combining those disciplines in the early 2000's, I co-founded a family-run mortuary transportation service.In 2008, I decided to add formal technical skills to my resume and obtained my Airframe & Powerplant license from the FAA. I made the switch from full time EMS & mortuary/coroner work to aviation maintenance and moved from the West Coast to the Great Lakes region. I worked for a regional airline for three years before making the switch to heavy equipment at a nearby iron mine. From there I added diesel, metalworking and other heavy industrial skills to my toolkit. While there, I realized a lifelong passion and became a volunteer firefighter.I enjoyed the Midwest, the people I worked with and the mining industry; but a plant closure with a layoff took my life elsewhere. I returned to the West Coast, settling south of Portland, Oregon and combined my work experience in various fields into a career in occupational safety. I still proudly serve my community as a fire department Chaplain.
