Profile bio

About Matthew Bonanni

I am a PhD candidate in Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University. I graduated summa cum laude from Northeastern University's Honors Program in 2019 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Physics, and received my MS in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford in 2021.My current research focuses on large eddy simulation of multiphase, reacting flows with application to rocket and scramjet propulsion. More broadly, my interests include computational modeling of fluid systems as well as their application to the optimization of space launch vehicles and spacecraft. With experience in both the robotics and aerospace industries through my internships and co-ops at GE, iRobot, and SpaceX, I have a strong background in mechanical design backed by these techniques as well. Eventually, I hope to apply these techniques to contribute to the development of advanced spacecraft. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, playing tennis, and road cycling. I am also a fan of Formula 1. (Go Ferrari!) Check out my portfolio website below.

Listed skills include Solidworks, Ptc Creo, Leadership, Siemens Nx, and 14 others.
