Overseeing the Scripting, User Interface and overall Content Development for electronic licensed toy products and consumer electronics.

Directed the design and product development of over 38 girl, boy and gender-neutral items across 6 brands, including Moon Sand, Moon Dough, Flutterbye Fairy and Kid Kleen. Products ranged from high-complexity electronic items with extensive scripting, animation and game-play design to simple, low-price point/high play value skus for compound-based lines.Coordinated Marketing and Engineering teams in Canada and Hong Kong while managing internal and external Content and Design resources to tight timeline and budgetary restrictions. Oversaw all aspects of product development from initial concept generation, through refinement and cost reduction, to on-site resolution of production issues in China.

Responsible for management and administration of industrial design and content production teams for all high-complexity, content-heavy products. Provided creative design and content leadership while formulating strategy and policy to achieve VTech’s short- and long-term goals.

Designed electronic learning toys and content for the Electronic Learning Team and directed outside design firms on the development of new product concepts and designs. Refined the design and managed all scripts, illustration, recordings and game-play for the PowerTouch Reading System, an electronic, book-based, learn-to-read system.
