Completing and periodically updating the vessel annual paint plan.8. Management of ships waste disposal. Maintaining the ships Garbage Record Book.9. Responsible for all inerting, tank cleaning, purging & gas freeing operations. 10. Maintaining the vessels Oil Record Book Part II 11. Responsible for all cargo operations including:• Preparation of Load/Discharge Plans for bulk, general, containerized, and oil cargoes.• Preparation of deck and cargo holds for carriage of cargo/pre-loading inspections• Ensuring correct rigging of general cargo, including various pieces of heavy equipment.• Ensuring safe operation of vessels cargo equipment, including Framo pumps, Heavy Lift Deck Cranes, and general cargo lifting equipment.• Inspect cargo lashings to ensure cargo is secured for sea12. Plan and execute ballast operations in accordance with the vessels Ballast Water Management Plan.13. Implementing the SMS within the Deck Department.14. Review and approve crews overtime report15. Facilitating a Deck Cadet Training Program.16. Participate as a member of the Ship Environmental Committee.17. Act as the On Scene Commander in the event of an emergency.17. Relieve Master on Bridge when required

Mt Jasmine Knutsen

MT Jasmine Knutsen a 148,000 DWT Shuttle Tanker. The Jasmine is also a DP Class 2 vessel capable of loading at offshore oil fields using a specialized bow loading system. Duties:1. Maintain safe Navigation/DP/Anchor watch2. Maintaining Canadian charts and publications up to date3. Preparing Dynamic Positioning system for use in accordance with company checklists4. Junior DPO during loading operations from offshore installations5. Operation of Bow loading system6. Assisting Chief Officer with testing of bow loading system7. Loading of crude oil from offshore installations 8. Discharge of crude oil using both electric and steam driven centrifugal pumps9. Maintenance of fire and lifesaving equipment10. Training new crew on company safety policies

Milne Inlet, Baffin Island

1. Overall responsibility for marine services at Milne Inlet Port related to the export of Iron Ore2. Direct communication responsibility with all vessels operating within the Milne Inlet Port Limits and approaches3. Manage the scheduling of the berth for incoming and outgoing vessels4. Determine the order in which vessels berth and whether vessels will need to proceed to an anchorage.5. Communicate preferred waiting location (anchorage or suitable waiting place) with Master of vessel6. Manage the berthing/un-berthing operations of all vessels, including:• Docking Master Services • Tug operations and services• Mooring/unmooring operations• Communicate mooring plan to incoming vessels 7. Review and confirm acceptance of the loading plans8. Confirm ballast water exchange test results 9. Inspect cargo holds for cleanliness and recommend to Port Manager any required action10. Ensure all safety protocols have been followed11. Confirm and provide acceptance for loading operations to commence. 12. Confirm and provide acceptance for completion of loading operations13. Finalize all required paperwork for vessel to sail, including:• Statements of Facts• Notices of Readiness• Letters of Authorisation to Sign Bills of Lading• Draft Surveys 14. Ensure that the provisions of the IMSBC Code and BLU Code are adhered to.15. Ensure that ISPS regulations are adhered to.

MV Umiak I is a 31,992 DWT Ice Breaking Bulk Carrier (Polar Class 4). In addition to Bulk cargoes the Umiak is also capable of carrying general, containerized and oil cargoes. Duties:1. Preparation of passage plans. 2. Keeping of safe Navigation/Anchor watch. 3. Ice Navigation on the Labrador coast and North of 60 degrees 4. Responsible for keeping all bridge equipment in working order and all certificates valid.5. Keeping charts and publications up to date.6. Ship Safety officer, responsible for ensuring company Safety Management System was adhered to and that all work was completed in a safe manner. Held monthly safety committee meetings as well as quarterly meetings with the crew.7. Training of new crew on company/ship policies and procedures8. Responsible for the computer based training program onboard.9. Carry out Health and Safety inspections of the ship.10. Maintaining ships hospital in proper order, including keeping an up to date medicine chest. Responsible for all hospital equipment.11. Loading and discharging of Nickel Concentrate in bulk.12. Assisting the Chief Officer with monitoring condition of atmosphere in cargo holds. Inerting the cargo holds with Nitrogen gas after loading and gas freeing prior to discharging.13. Loading of containerized cargo and general cargo. Supervised the loading by stevedores in Quebec City. Carried out the loading and discharging operation in Voiseys bay with ships crew.14. Supervise the lashing and securing of various types of cargo17. Operating and supervising the use of cranes during cargo operations. 18.
