In this role, Matthew was given the responsibility for taking the lead in the maintenance and reliability processes of the project in a manner that had a direct and positive impact on profitability, efficiency, cost management, quality and safety. Responsibilities included;Being an active member of the senior management team and supporting the project team where required;Working according to the company's values;Being responsible for the preventative maintenance strategy for all company operations;Maintaining the ancillary equipment, and offices along with supporting maintenance of the residential property portfolio;Making effective use of the maintenance software to plan and schedule preventative maintenance activities;Implementing a continuous improvement program;Preparing and managing a comprehensive maintenance and reporting regime;Preparing and achieving maintenance budgets;Arranging all engineering inspections on site, including statutory inspections;Developing and managing the external hire business for new and established customers;Being responsible for all engineering standards, safety procedures and policies; Developing short and long term strategies with the intention of generating ongoing growth for the organisation;Being responsible for capital projects and maintenance budgets;Providing leadership and direction to the Preventative Maintenance, Maintenance, Purchasing, Inventory, Production and Business Development teams;Assisting with the development and implemention of appropriate systems and processes required to successfully achieve organisational targets; andDeveloping Purchasing, Inventory, Preventative Maintenance, Projects departments budgets and forecasts as required.

This role required managing and leading the workshop, purchasing, inventory/store and logistics teams in allocating workload and managing the day to day operations in the workshop and assistance with the projects/operations department. Matthew was responsible for co-ordinating resources and liaising with internal and external key contacts to ensure work is delivered on time and to a quality standard.Responsibilities included;Job allocation and job flow in the workshop including job scheduling and labour allocation for day to day operations;Co-ordinating resources, (operational and human) schedules and activities to effectively manage jobs. Ensuring that supplies were ordered for each job;Assisting the enginerring department with quoting, project management, materials purchasing and quality checks. Ensuring correct job numbers are used and that time records are correct. Managing inward goods, checking quantities, dispatching goods and receipting invoices Reporting on manpower overruns or shortfalls. Acting as a technical adviser on key projects and other areas of the business as requested. Working with the Director(s) to respond to client’s requests for updates on the status of their jobs and keep the communication channels open to ensure information is accurate.Identifing client’s needs and explain/demonstrate AMS's services to them, which may involve technical descriptions of products and the way they may be used. Developing and implementing systems to record, file and store information pertaining to client enquiries. Identifing employees that required on-going training and implementing training opportunities to ensure their skills are improved. Working with apprentices and semi-skilled staff to role model appropriate technical skills. Providing feedback to employees that are not performing to the expected level and ensure human resources are informed of trends in performance. Promoting a Health and Safety culture within the business.
