This is a continuation from my role as Financial Systems Project Intern. In my role as a Financial Systems Project Coordinator at the New York Racing Association (NYRA), I played an integral part in the finance team’s initiative to implement the SAP S/4HANA ERP and ARIBA Spend Management systems. I coordinated detailed planning and phase-specific task management, guiding the project from inception through execution. My responsibilities extended to developing test cases and user acceptance testing plans, enabling a seamless transition to the new systems. I also managed various administrative tasks, such as inactivating customer and vendor profiles, returning outdated purchase orders, and identifying duplicate or outstanding invoices within the Great Plains accounting system for effective data cleansing. Through close collaboration with NYRA leadership, I communicated and coordinated essential system changes across the organization, ensuring that all staff received the training necessary to adopt the new tools with confidence.

As a Financial Systems Project Intern at the New York Racing Association (NYRA), I worked closely with the Senior Director of Financial Systems Transformation to improve the efficiency of current financial processes and lay the groundwork for future financial initiatives. I gained hands-on experience with data standardization by implementing Blackline Systems’ software to create rules and universal match sets, automating key accounting processes across the organization. This role also provided valuable corporate experience, allowing me to hone essential skills in Microsoft Excel, data analysis, agile project management, and effective communication within large-scale accounting frameworks.

I began work at Savoy Landscape Construction LLC as a summer job. During my time there I did a little bit of everything in my role. Starting modestly as a general laborer, I took on tasks from weeding gardens and trimming hedges, to building stone walls and patios by hand. After returning to for my second summer at Savoy Landscape Construction LLC, I took on the role of landscape manager. While I still participated in the general labor jobs the company was tasked with, I was additionally tasked with making sure our crew had all the equipment we needed before a job, completing mowing contracts for clients, as well as retrieving and delivering materials for specialized jobs. For example, one job the company took on was constructing a farm style boulder wall for a client. During this job, my role was to get the boulders for the wall, and deliver the correct amount to the job site. In order to do this I needed to drive a dump truck to the pickup location, and weigh the loads out correctly to insure we had enough to complete the construction, but not too much where we would be wasting the materials. After weighing the loads, I carefully drove the dump truck to the work site and proceeded to place organized piles of boulders for the rest of the crew to organize into the wall construction.
