Matthew Christopher's abandonedamerica.us project was started to capture the beauty of the derelict buildings dotting the American landscape. It has been featured in numerous newspapers, blogs, and publications. Matthew Christopher's work has been in solo exhibitions across the east coast including at OK Harris in NYC, the Frick Fine Art Building in Pittsburgh, and the Open Lens Gallery in Philadelphia. He has also lectured for the State Museum of Pennsylvania, Preservation Pennsylvania, and others and his essays have appeared in Hidden City Philadelphia, the U.N. Chronicle, and more. Recently Matthew has been teaching photography workshops in hard to access vacant/abandoned sites.

Instructed students on the basics of digital imaging through weekly lectures and demonstrations. Topics covered included camera raw work-flow, printing, basic color management, and artistic composition. Held weekly critiques on all assignments.
